This project re-imagines Taylor Swift’s 2024 hit album, The Tortured Poets Department, in vinyl record format. Two different approaches were created to encapsulate different aspects of the album’s sense of yearning, romanticism and heartache.

Concept A hones in on the idea of heartbreak through the lens of romantic, classical work (a nod to the tortured poets). The record cover is a double sleeve - the first sleeve depicting a marble carved female bust with a diecut hole around the face. The second inner sleeve is printed with a painting of a vase full of dead and dried flowers. The vinyl itself is a translucent resin with pressed flowers encased within, alluding to the vase of dead flowers and to the idea of preserving a moment in time. Combined, the whole package reveals the inner world of a heartbroken woman and goes to show that feelings of love and loss are timeless and a pervasive subject of the arts.
